Thanksgiving in Chicago!

This year we decided to load up the car and head to Chicago for a weekend full of family fun! We always love getting back to Chicago but hate that our trips are so short. Mia was an absolute angel the entire way..so we hope to do more road trips soon! Unfortunately though, our trip got off to a rough start when Jim and I both woke up Monday morning with food poisoning and ended up leaving two days later than we had planned. Oh well..we still got to go and had a wonderful time.
We took Mia downtown Chicago and spent the night and showed her where Daddy and Mommy use to live. We even got to experience the American Girl Doll store which was amazing and overwhelming at the same time. Mia loved the Bitty Baby section and had no problem holding babies and pushing strollers at the same time. I think she was trying to show us what life is going to be like with the new baby.
We did some Christmas shopping and ended the long, cold day with dinner at Grand Luxe which is one of our favorite spots on Michigan Ave.
On Thanksgiving, we headed to the suburbs where my Brother and Sister-in-law were hosting. It was such a beautiful day filled with so much love and LOTS OF BABIES AND KIDS! My cousin and her twins were there, my nieces little girl Addison and then of course Mia her cousin Lody. Not to mention the older crew of kids. It was great catching up with everyone and celebrating the true meaning of Thanksgiving together. We had a special time of reflection where we broke bread together and each person shared what they were most Thankful for this year. Many tears of joy were shed and laughter was heard. Thank you Mike and Monica for such a special and memorable Thanksgiving...we love you guys!My Brother Carving the Turkey!

The rest of the weekend was filled with family fun and shopping! The town my brother lives in had the annual lighting of the Christmas tree downtown. Santa was there with plenty of kid activities that we all enjoyed. We also headed out to see The Blind Side which made Jim and I so proud to call Oxford home and to be Ole Miss Rebels. Great movie and definitely a MUST SEE!
Mia loved every minute with her cousins and we look forward to seeing everyone soon in Florida for the New Year.
